It is important to remember that however good a player becomes at football within our club it is important to reinforce the message to parents and spectators that positive encouragement to all, is an important development in the sport.

Torpoint Ladies Athletic Football Club expect all parents, guardians and spectators to abide by the following Code of Conduct:

• Discourage unfair play and arguing with officials.

• Never force a player to take part in sport.

• Never punish or belittle a player for losing or making mistakes.

• Publicly accept officials' judgements.

• Support the teams involvement and help them to enjoy their sport.

• Use correct and proper language at all times.

Torpoint Ladies Athletic Football Club firmly believe that all individuals involved in sports activities with children and young people have a responsibility to safeguard their welfare. The majority of children who participate in sport do so in a safe and positive atmosphere with the support and encouragement of those involved with the sport.

Child Abuse is any form of physical, emotional or sexual mistreatment or lack of care that leads to injury or harm. It commonly occurs within a relationship of trust or responsibility and represents an abuse of power or a breach of trust. Abuse can happen to a child regardless of their age, gender, race or ability.

Torpoint Ladies Football Club are committed to providing the safest possible environment for all footballers to enjoy the game and develop as both individuals and athletes.

A number of our coaches, managers and club officials have attended an FA Child Protection and Best Practice Workshop and have received guidance on how to recognise and deal with the many forms of Child Abuse.

If you have any concerns at any time please speak to your coach or team manager , or alternatively contact the Club Secretary.

The FA also provide Child Protection support to all affiliated clubs. The FA Child Protection Department can be contacted on 0207 745 4649.
